Blog Mad Libs!

August 13th, 2008 by Stephanie

Update on my life, courtesy of The Lazy Bloggers Post Generator (which I found via literary agent blog The Swivet):

Oh for crying out loud! I just climbed out from under my rock and realised I have not updated this since the Clintons were in the Whitehouse… You would not believe how hard it is being waited on hand and foot and generally lounging around. Stupid Global Warming!.

I am flat out like a lizard drinking with feeding the little people, being distracted by the shiny, just generally being of great concern to my cats, my day drifts aimlessly from the second I am woken by murderous Teletubbies to 11pm at which point I fall asleep on the couch. I am not growing up. I need some perspective.

I won’t promise anything to you but I will write something that makes sense soon. Seriously! Don’t hold your breath though, you’re likely to turn blue..

Couldn’t have summed life up better myself…

Check out Stephen Colbert’s petition about how he chose Oprah to promote his book.  Such masterful marketing (and always in character)!

Demotivation

May 12th, 2007 by Stephanie

If you’ve never looked at Despair.com, go now.  It’s a company that sells motivational poster spoofs, and it’s hilarious.

They have gems such as…

Change

Change: When the winds of change blow hard enough, the most trivial of things can become deadly projectiles.

and…

idiocy

Idiocy: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

You can also find great writing-related demotivators at 101 Reasons to Stop Writing, such as this gem:

 slushpiledemotivatormay07_m.jpg

Slushpile: You spent two years writing the novel, three months rewriting the opening chapters, and four seconds reading the submission guidelines.
