I'm doing research about canine chemo and came across this post. So glad to hear that the treatment worked with your girl, as my girl is starting her treatment today. She has a similar situation to Sierra's, in that her lymph system was involved and she had a very large mass in her abdomen that was filled with fluid. They removed what they could of that, but there is some of it left in her so we are praying that the chemo not only makes her feel better but also extends her life. Thank you for posting this. It gives me hope for my Katie.

Good luck, Farrah! The chemo was magic - I had a wonderful year and a half with Sierra after her initial diagnosis.

Stephanie, We had chemo for our dog Emma. She didn't seem to suffer as much as we had expected and it eased her pain. I wish you happy moments with your dog(s).

I had no idea the medicine was so advanced. I've had the same reservations (if they don't know why "we're" making them feel so bad...), but this is fabulous news.

Hug Sierra baby for me. Hug all the babies for me.

Good Luck, BJ! I know that feeling all too well. I hope it turns out to be something treatable.

Thank you for this. My happy little dog may need a biopsy for an odd sore on his side, and you know what I'm worried they'll find.

It's good to know that chemotherapy for dogs -- especially as expensive as it is -- is easier on dogs than on humans.

My dog has no symptoms, no loss of quality of life or even loss of appetite (if he loses his appetite, I know he's SICK). He's 13, but for a small dog that's not ancient.

If this does turn out to be skin cancer, I'll pay to keep him around. Until something affects his quality of life terribly, I couldn't do anything else.
